ive just watched Quills
Ace. Haven't enojyed a film like this in a while and i've seen alotta pretty good films lately. Man! I wanna write something now. Im inspired. The performances were wonderful, Kate got me again, so corruptibly sweet. joaquin was amazing, Caine empowering and Rush astoundingly devious.
Gah, loved it. The humour was spot on, the sets were beautiful, the screenplay excellently paced and wonderfully crafted.
Ooh as a side note ive been a little switch-happy online lately. Ordered sex and the city season 6 (the only one ive not seen cause of halls last year) from play.com for £28 which is not that bad, the L-word from cdwow.com for a mere 26 quid considering it came out only a few weeks ago. Though it is on region 1 which is all cool cause i fixed my dvd player to do just that ;) So excited cannot wait to watch it. Seen one scene on 100 greatest tv moments of 2004 (though disapointingly rozy told me what it was and its at the end of the season: gutted). Though I will have Living TV to watch the next season. Yes!
Then today I ordered 3 cds from cdjungle.com which is pretty good for low prices - Lifehouse:No name face, Portishead:Portishead and Killers:Hot fuss. all for 25 of your british pounds. Yas.
I had a copy of Lifehouse ages ago and my friend borrowed it and shes notoriously bad at returning stuff. But I really want it. Downloaded the only two full songs I could find and i still love the music as much as i used to. Especially sick cycle carousel and quasimodo which i could only find 45secs of. Meh. Dial up too slow for kazaa.
Portishead I'm so into at the moment. Fucking love Dummy and I'm sure ive heard the song Only You on this album. wee!
And The Killers, I've wanted this for yeeeears. Love Mr Brightside and realised that the funky song I heard in Disko Bloodbath was Somebody Told me by them.(Somebody told me that you've got a boyfriend that looks like a girlfriend etc etc)
So I have to wait for S&tC to arrive in stock. piss. But its ok, I like play.com, they're my friends. The L-Word should arrive either friday or saturday. If I'm unlucky then Monday. Hopefully cdwow are as nice as play.com. And my 3 cds should arrive in 3 to 5 days. The payment should go through pretty quickly as its through worldpay which is run by my banks group. So my deductions hopefully mean it'll be quick. Same deal with the L-Word as well.
So 3 cds and the L-Word hopefully here on Fri/Sat (Hangover New Years day playtime and Sunday off! Yeh!) Sex and the city doesnt need to come til Im finishing devouring the L-Word.
Off to squee some more at quills.
