Seriously, one of the funniest things I've ever seen. Love her.
In other news, am trooping down to London next Saturday to see Muse at Wembley on Sunday. V. Exciting. Not been to London since I was 15. Staying in a Kings Cross hostel, cause I'm poor. But sounds really nice. Train tickets cost more than hostel and gig tickets put together.
Dunno what we should do for sat afternoon n day. And Monday before we get the train back up at 3. Museums, theatre? Maybe, maybe. Dunno. Costing a small fortune but will be worth it to see Muse.
My right eye is fucked re: Friday night ridiculous drinking. Did a twelve hour shift, finished, then we all drank the free OOD beer, then back to someones til about 7 in the morning. After waking up around 2, left in a total state, got many liquids from scotmid and trooped home to recooperate.
But was going to the theatre at night, to see the NTS revival of one of the most celebrated plays by one of my fav writers. Traverse was packed as hell. Never seen it so big. Sure they oversold on tikets. I've seen a full housebefore. And that was a full house plus. There I am in my milk bottle glasses (couldn't wear contacts as eyes were terrible) and grubby tshirt. Then who sits next to me - who sits next to me - but Anthony Neilson, the writer and director of the show.
How much I wanted to tell him how much I love is work and how truly fantastic the play was -- But I couldn't bring my disgusting self to chat away to him. Even though he was sitting right next to me.
First act was crazily imaginative, brutal, colourful, uplifting and hilarious. Second act was such a stark contrast which was v much the point. The whole time you (the audience) are supposed to be thinking 'I want to go back to Dissocia', as the lead character wants. Because the reality of mental illness is just not as enjoyable as the 'separate world'.
Wonderful. Hence the name 'The Wonderful World of Dissocia'.
Need to start working on a new play/script soon before my creative soul withers and dies in the Wetherspoons...
