Ooh! Before I forget, is there a connection between Sarah Jane Smith and Mickey Smith? When I caught that from the finale, I knew there'd be only one person who could answer that (i.e. you) My Whoverse liking friends have only seen one or two components as a casual viewer (seeing all the episodes but not going much further) and really don't reach the geek level of fandom that I can immerse myself in. Pfft. Pedestrians. And I haven't been into Who for that long myself..
I liked the Rose/Clone situation because of the immensely complicated issues that will surface. The happiness at being able to be with the Doctor as a life partner, to love and to be with - but ultimately knowing that he is not the 'one'. Very good to fic, methinks.
And the growing a piece of the TARDIS makes me think of pot plant cuttings *grin*
I would agree with your personal canon of Rose being self-sufficient in making a life for herself. The character that she became over season one and two wouldn't have indicated to me she'd crumple in a heap. Of course, devastated at being torn away from the man she loves - but Turn Left shows us not only how important she's become in Torchwood but how she turned her pain into determination to get back through. I read an interview with Piper saying that she would never rule out doing more Who and that it's something she can't leave behind. I don't think it's the last of her and I'm looking forward to seeing how it's advanced. When that happens. In 2 or more years time.
How rubbish is this ridiculous hiatus? I watched all of Who in a matter of days and now I have to wait 2 years for more? That's like a major crack binge and then.. uh.. no more crack.
I never saw Farscape. I've always consider myself not into sci-fi because I don't like Star Wars or Star Trek but then I love Firefly, Red Dwarf and will soon be experimenting with Battlestar Galatica.
I am Lynsay, watch me babble too. Geeking out is good for the soul :)
